The Mansfield 500 Series Stem 123-0095 is for a 12 inch wall. The stem from end to end will measure 16 inches. The Mansfield 123-0095 stem comes complete and ready to install. In Addition, The end that faces out of the faucet has a square shape for the handle screw to thread into it. The 123-0095 stem comes with the packing and support washer on one end, And includes a spring loaded end on the other. Along with male threads made of brass. The stem is for the 500 series faucet, which was made before 2006. The Mansfield 500 Series Stem is made from copper and brass. The Stem also has the O-ring and washer on the spring loaded end. When measuring your stem make sure to get the complete length. You would measure from where the handle attaches, all the way down to the tip of the spring-loaded end. Make sure when measuring the stem, the spring loaded end is pressed out of the body of the stem. The Mansfield 400 and 500 series faucets are often times confused for one another. This is usually due to the fact that the faucets look identical. The only difference in them is the thread pitch at the end of the stem. Which means a 500 series stem would not be able to thread into a 400 series, and vise versa. The best way to tell the difference between a 400 and 500 faucet is by the age. If the faucet was made before 2006 it will be the 500 series, and if it is newer than 2006 it will be the 400 series. If you are not sure of the age of the faucet you can also identify it by the amount of turns the handle makes to turn the faucet on. The 500 series will use a full turn, while the 400 uses a half turn.
