Mansfield 123-4092 400 Series Faucet Stem

Mansfield 123-4092 400 Series Faucet Stem. This stem is made for a 6 inch frost protections (as shown on the package), but it will measure about 10" from end to end. When measuring the stem make sure that the spring-loaded piece is pushed out of the stem, not in. This Stem comes complete with the packing washer, packing, and the spring-loaded end. This stem does not come with the packing nut.  The spring-loaded end will go into the body of the faucet, and the handle screw will thread into the squared portion at the end of the stem. The Mansfield 400, and 500 series faucets are often confused for each other. The best way to tell the difference between a 500, and 400 series is by the age. If the faucet was made in 2006 to newer it is the 400, but if it was made prior to 2006 it will be a 500 series. If you are not sure of the age of the faucet. You can also identify it by the amount of turns the handle takes. The 400 series faucets will only turn 180 degrees. But the 500 series will make a complete turn, or even more than one full turn.
