The wall thickness is the measurement from the front of the wall to where the faucet connects to the plumbing.

Keep in mind that the fitting (3/4” Copper Sweat ID 3/4” Male Pipe Thread OD) will add 1 5/8" to the overall length of the hydrant.

If you already have a faucet, you can measure from the wall plate back to where the fitting starts to get the wall thickness like the diagram below.
