Arrowhead Brass 480 Series Leaking Around The Stem

     If the water is coming around the stem where the handle goes on through the packing gland, that means the packing in the stem is bad. Arrowhead Brass does not provide any packing for the stems. It is recommended that you replace the complete stem assembly.

     Arrowhead has two versions of stems. They have the "SP" version which is 1/4" longer than the normal stems, and they have normal 2" increment stems. For example. If your stem measures 10" from end to end, then you would have a normal version stem. If your stem measured 10 1/4" end to end, then you would have the "SP" version stem.
